When God sat down
To play with dirt,
Imagination open-mouth kissed reality.
Thus, clay was dusted off
And named
Yet full completion didn’t come
Until the entrance of another
The second-one
For years I believed
Her second formed birth order
Made her just so:
Secondary
Made from man and for man
Ah, there was a realm
Where Eve placed first
Recognized for disqualification
Wearing a crown of deceit
Lips apple red
Thus, the stage was set
For my understanding of woman
The gift of Ezer stripped
To subservient and temptress
But, may I take back the narrative,
Not by pointing out Adam’s failure
Or by praising Eve’s God-like strength
No.
Let us instead play in the dirt
And marvel at a God
Who made mud pies come to life
His daughters and sons
